Sri Lanka Association of Bangladesh, Commonly known SLAB is an exclusive organization representing Sri Lankan expatriate community in Bangladesh. Despite the hectic lifestyle in Dhaka SLAB is offering moments of oasis home away home withstanding one country one nation

SLAB is a nonprofit organization run by an elected committee consists of a president, secretary, treasure and four executive committee members supported by fourteen committee members.

SLAB often referred to as the one and only susceptible organization which look after the wellbeing of Sri Lanka community in Bangladesh through numerous activities.

  • To maintain and uphold harmony, unity, dignity and mutual trust among the Sri Lanka community in Bangladesh of the Association.
  • To protect and defend the rights and the duties of the members of the Association
  • To advance, promote and foster welfare and mutual understanding, friendship, and cooperation among and between fellow members of the Association, fellow Sri Lankan Community in Bangladesh and all Foreign and Bangladesh Nationals.
  • To promote the wellbeing among all communities and people of different religious faiths and beliefs.
  • To promote, advance, encourage and facilitate sports, Sri Lanka culture, customs and Traditions among the Sri Lankan Community.
  • To accomplish all necessary and appropriate lawful actions to safeguard, protect, defend, respect and uphold the Sovereignty, Integrity, and Independence of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka while respecting the Sovereignty, Integrity and Independence of Peoples’ Republic of Bangladesh.
  • To welcome and to assist the Sri Lankan new comers and visiting Sri Lankans to Bangladesh and to assist, support and help them as and when it became necessary and requires.
  • To provide and maintain the School established in 1995 in the premises of Sri Lanka High Commission under the guidance of the mission to teach and facilitate to enhance and enrich the education and knowledge of Mother language and Religions (as requires and appropriates) to the children of the members of the Association.
  • Formation of Sri Lanka association of Bangladesh is the fulfillment of long felt need of Sri Lankan expatriates who work and live in Bangladesh
  • Promote close fellowship among the Sri Lankans residing in Bangladesh
  • Welcome and assist  Sri Lankans, newcomers and Sri Lanka visitors to Bangladesh ;
  • Gather all Sri Lanka expatriates in Bangladesh on a common platform and promote close friendship and understanding between Sri Lanka and other nationals in Bangladesh.
  • Disseminate information of Sri Lankans living in Bangladesh;
  • Encourage and facilitate sports, Social and Cultural activities in Bangladesh;
  • Promote and participate in social welfare of the Sri Lankan Community and related charity  activates in Bangladesh.
